In addition to items on display in Museum exhibits, STCHS also maintains a substantial collection of other items that can be researched or accessed. The Museum facility has significant storage capacity on site where such items are accessioned, cared for, and preserved for future generations. Thanks to an online museum cataloging system, these items can be identified digitally and accessed physically, if appropriate.
The Museum has approximately 1000 vintage and other photographs in its collection. Over the years, many local families and institutions have given their photos to the Museum for preservation, storage, and (if appropriate) display to the public. The photo collection is digitally maintained for easy access and study.
As the leading historical organization in the region, local residents have over the years generously donated a wealth of historical artifacts to the Museum for proper preservation. The Museum has substantial capability for proper storage of these items in its facility in Groveland. Moreover, after accessioning and evaluation, the objects are identified and digitally catalogued to facilitate study.
